Salam Baniahmed, Ph.D. is the Director of the Energy Storage focus area at Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA). He leads the growth of the Energy Storage adoption and helps utilities transition to an affordable, reliable, and resilient carbon-free electric energy system. Salam collaborates across SEPA's focus area teams, ensuring balanced technology advancement within the taxonomy of Smart Grids.
Salam has led and co-led innovative technology development on clean energy systems. His career path features persistent efforts to harmonize the cyber and physical layers of the critical energy infrastructure. Salam is a senior member of IEEE and is continuously involved in standards development. He has authored and co-authored numerous journal and conference papers, white papers, book chapters, and technical reports.
Salam holds a B.S. degree in Engineering Technology, an M.S. in Computer Engineering, and received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
