Richard H. (Rick) Meeker, Jr., P.E.
Rick Meeker is President and founder of Nhu Energy, where his team is working to accelerate the successful transition of innovations in energy and intelligent systems and controls from R&D to deployment in high-value and mission-critical applications.
Rick has held leadership and engineering positions in R&D, engineering, and industry, managing and leading capital projects, O&M, and large collaborative R&D initiatives and highly-skilled teams in power and controls. Prior to Nhu Energy, Rick led Program Development and Industry Partnerships for the Center for Advanced Power Systems at Florida state University where he helped grow capabilities and national and global recognition of the center and led all of the major Dept. of Energy funded collaborative initiatives. He was part of a select team from Florida's four largest public universities that created the first statewide energy systems research consortium in Florida (FESC). He formed and led two engineering and technology-oriented startup ventures, including the most recent, Nhu Energy. He is a licensed professional engineer, has co-authored two book chapters in instrumentation and controls and numerous papers and articles, and is inventor on a patent in optimal control of distributed energy resources.
